Kelvie

Speech/ High Sense of Fear/ Anxiety

Before starting care, Kelvie struggled with communication, focus, and a heightened sense of fear. He was nonverbal, had difficulty focusing at school, and was not yet potty trained. He often seemed to be on high alert, becoming frightened by everyday things like noisy cars, people, and vehicles passing by while driving. As an infant, he would cry hysterically at loud noises, and these fears continued as he grew older.

His family experienced significant stress during COVID, including lockdowns and changes at work while working in healthcare. Kelvie was also born with a tongue tie, which was corrected to help him breastfeed.

Since starting care, his family noticed positive changes in Kelvie’s emotional regulation and overall anxiety levels. He seems less nervous overall and is becoming more comfortable engaging in activities that involve movement, coordination, and play.

They’ve also seen improvements in his motor skills. He is exploring new movements, playing upside down, wrestling, throwing balls, and walking on a balance beam. Seeing him participate in these activities and develop new physical skills has been encouraging for our family.

One of the most meaningful changes has been seeing Kelvie appear less anxious and more at ease. While every child’s journey is different, these improvements have given us hope as we continue supporting his development.

Our hope is for Kelvie to continue building confidence, developing new skills, and feeling more comfortable in the world around him. We’re grateful to celebrate each step forward in his journey.
