Alejandro
Perfect Storm / 2 Week Extensive Program
Alejandro began his healing journey with us 2 weeks ago after his mom found us through the PX directory.
He was born without an anus and had a colostomy for about 3 years. Due to his pull-through surgery, he had difficulty pooping on his own and relied on Ex-Lax to have bowel movements. This caused emotional reactions that could become uncontrollable at times. The doctors are considering another surgery to place a button/stoma on his abdomen for enemas.
Last school year, Alejandro was diagnosed with Autism, inattentive ADHD, and a severe learning disability. He is homeschooled, so his family manages many outbursts at home. He often operates in fight-or-flight mode, especially during changes or highly emotional situations, which can sometimes make him inconsolable and drain the whole family.
Alejandro is a very sweet and loving boy with high emotional sensitivity. He was born via C-section after induction, with a heart defect (DORV) and without an anus. This led to 3 heart surgeries, 3 colostomy-related surgeries, reconstructive surgery, and a pull-through to close the colostomy. He also had a tethered spinal cord release, and later surgery to repair a gap in his urethra.
Before that last surgery, he experienced multiple episodes of epididymitis and was on and off antibiotics for a year. From 2020–2023, he did well, made huge progress in speech and physical therapy, and grew a lot. However, by summer 2024, delays in school and emotional outbursts increased, leading to a high-emotion rollercoaster for the family.
Alejandro’s mom shared that during her pregnancy, she felt very alone after moving to CA while family remained in AZ. The 20-week scan revealed his heart defect, which caused immense fear and emotional stress. Additionally, the family had to travel to AZ in May–July 2017 to care for Alejandro’s grandfather, who sadly passed away from leukemia.
💖 After just 2 weeks of care:
Alejandro has been calmer during frustrating moments.
He is now able to poop without medication, which has significantly reduced stress and meltdowns

Way to go, Alejandro! 🎉 Your progress is inspiring, and your family is seeing real change in just a short time. 🌈
